Feeling this overwhelmed by a culture that I do not understand, it is not possible to yet describe my thoughts about this place. Instead, I will pen a few quick observations.
The sewers are overflowing here. Cutlery is not used here, instead people merely eat with their right hands. Today I was eating with my left hand and I was chastised by the matron of the house. People wipe their butts with their left hands. Therefore there is no toilet paper and instead, a bucket of water. There was a man riding an elephant down the street today, he told me to stop video taping unless I paid him. There are large, plump cattle standing in traffic, yet there are starving people in this city. The Christians eat chicken. The coffee here is delicious and they bring it to me each day while I am in bed. The humidity is 100%, therefore there is always water on the ground, providing the perfect breeding environment for mosquitoes. There are 5 deadly diseases which can be bore by mosquitoes, these diseases are quite common. Three percent of the people here call themselves Christian. Families are only allowed 2 children. There are over 1 billion people in India. There are a lot of orphans here. Instead of blinkers they use horns to signal lane changes and turns. I like it here.
